Verso Collect LLC operates the versocollect.com platform (the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information and describes your rights. This policy applies to all users including those in the United States, European Union, and United Kingdom.
2.1 Information You Provide
Name and email address; artwork details including artist name, title, year, medium, artwork type, dimensions, acquisition price, acquisition date, location, sale status, sale price, and sales channel; artwork images and invoice documents.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Login timestamp; device type. We do not use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and we do not use tracking cookies or advertising technologies.
We use your information to: provide, operate, and maintain the Platform; process documents you upload (such as invoices) using AI services to automatically extract artwork details; respond to inquiries and support requests; send transactional communications including login codes and account notifications; send product updates and new feature announcements (you may opt out at any time); contact users who have opted in to Commercial Outreach about potential art market buying and selling opportunities (see Section 7); comply with applicable legal obligations; and improve and develop the Platform.
Access to your collection data is restricted to authorized personnel of Verso Collect LLC, solely for the purposes of operating, maintaining, and supporting the Platform. We do not disclose your holdings, acquisition prices, or any collection details to any other user or third party without your explicit prior consent.
If you would like to be contacted about potential buying or selling opportunities relevant to your collection, you may opt in at any time using the Commercial Outreach setting in your profile. You may withdraw your opt-in at any time via the same setting or by contacting hello@versocollect.com.
For EU and UK users, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
Contract— processing is necessary to provide access to the Platform pursuant to our Terms of Use.
Legitimate Interests— we process collection data based on our legitimate interest in operating an art advisory and collection management platform.
Consent— where required by law, we will obtain your consent prior to processing for specific purposes such as marketing communications. Commercial outreach regarding buying or selling opportunities occurs only with your opt-in consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting hello@versocollect.com.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. We may disclose your information only to: comply with applicable law or legal process; protect the rights, property, or safety of Verso, our users, or others; or in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case users will be notified in advance.
Our Platform is operated using trusted service providers that process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements: Supabase (database and secure storage), Cloudflare (infrastructure and email routing), Vercel (application hosting), Anthropic (AI-powered extraction of details from documents you upload; Anthropic does not use this data to train its models), Resend and Google Workspace (email delivery). These providers may only process your data to provide their services to us.
7.1 Access and Correction
You may access and update your information directly within the Platform at any time.
7.2 Data Deletion
You may delete your account directly within the Platform; your profile, artwork data, and login account will be permanently removed. We retain data for 30 days before permanent erasure. You may also request deletion at hello@versocollect.com.
7.3 Data Portability
To request an export of your data contact hello@versocollect.com; we will fulfill requests within 30 days.
7.4 Commercial Outreach (Opt-In)
Commercial outreach is disabled by default. You may opt in or out at any time using the Commercial Outreach setting in your profile, or by contacting hello@versocollect.com.
7.5 Opt Out of Marketing Emails
Contact hello@versocollect.com or follow the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email.
7.6 Right to Object (EU/UK Users)
You have the right to object to processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests by contacting hello@versocollect.com.
7.7 Complaints (EU/UK Users)
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, data is permanently erased within 30 days. We may retain certain information longer where required by law or for fraud prevention purposes.
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. Artwork images and invoice documents are stored in encrypted cloud object storage. Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel solely for the purposes described in this policy. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 and will delete such information promptly if discovered.
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time by updating the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
